Star Plus’ longest running show ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ won a million hearts till date. First it was Akshara (Hina Khan) & Naithik (Karan Mehra) with their adorable chemistry and now its Naira (Shivanghi Joshi) and Karthik (Moshin Khan). Hina Khan will always live in her fans’ hearts as Akshara. She was also named in Top 50 Sexiest Asian Women List in the year 2013 and 2014. There is no doubt that all her fans are eagerly waiting for her to come back to TV with a new role. She is one of the most desirable personalities of small screen.

Being a part of the most successful show, which went on air for nearly 8 years at a stretch, Hina Khan has become one of the most desirable personalities of the small screen. The actress may not be currently seen on TV but her demand is enormous in the industry. And now here is a news for all her fans. According to a report in an entertainment portal, the diva is receiving many offers from television as well as Bollywood but she is waiting for the right script and the right time to entertain her fans. Hina wants to deliver the best and she has been reading a lot of scripts for the same.

While talking to the portal, actress said “Yes, I am getting offers from TV & films but I am waiting for that right script which touches my heart and at the same time entertain my audiences. I am currently reading multiple scripts and working on myself. I am thankful for all the love I have received so far. I am assuring, I won’t disappoint my fans and will be back very soon.”

After both Hina and Karan’s exit, producer Rajan Shahi who had been a mentor to both Karan and Hina said in an interview, “With due respect to both the actors, it is a fact that after Karan left, we could consolidate our position and the TRPs actually increased. After Hina’s exit too, the show has grown. This is not to say that they did not contribute to the show, but we were not able to shoot when those two were a part of the show as they had so much baggage. There were just two-three hours of shooting with the lead actors. Now, even if we are given a choice, the writers wouldn’t want Akshara back.”

And reportedly she will be donning a glamorous avatar with her comeback show and that has got us all excited!

Tibet women's football team 'denied US visas'

A Tibetan women's football team has claimed that they have been denied United States visas to take part in a tournament in Texas.

They say they were told they had "no good reason" to visit the US.

Most of the players are Tibetan refugees living in India, and had applied at the US embassy in Delhi.

US President Donald Trump has imposed a travel ban (now frozen) on nationals from seven countries, but neither India or China is on the list.

Tibet, a remote and mainly-Buddhist territory known as the "roof of the world", is governed as an autonomous region of China.

Cassie Childers, the executive director of Tibet Women's Soccer and a US citizen, told the BBC that she had accompanied the group of 16 players for interviews at the embassy on 24 February.

"I am disappointed because we had planned the trip for months. It was a big moment in every player's life when they were told about the trip. It was their opportunity to tell the world that Tibetan women are capable of achieving anything," she said.

Ms Childers added that she was "ashamed" that her country refused to grant visas to a women's football team.

However, she said she did not think the denial had anything to do with the Trump administration.

"I had feared an outcome like this because Tibetans usually struggle to get US visas as officials fear that they might request asylum," she said.

She added that her team "was in good spirits despite this setback".

"The players are very positive. I was very dejected but they motivated me. I hope some other place will invite us where Tibetans are welcomed. Otherwise, we will just get together in an Indian city and practice anyway."

Most of the women in the team carry Indian Identity Certificates, which are documents issued by the Indian government to Tibetan refugees and function as passports.

Two members of the group held Indian passports.

Another four players who live in Nepal, and are Nepalese citizens, have also applied for visas in Kathmandu, but haven't heard from US officials.

A US official told the AP news agency that they did not comment on individual cases, but that the US position on Tibet had not changed, which is that Tibet is still recognised as part of China.

The team was planning to take part in the Dallas Cup, an annual tournament for youth teams from around the world.

India’s top court throws out case alleging Modi took cash payments ( India )

India’s Supreme Court on Wednesday threw out a case brought by an anti-corruption lawyer that accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of accepting suspicious cash payments, dealing a blow to an opposition leader who had latched on to the case.

A panel of judges found that there was too little evidence to go on, deflating Rahul Gandhi’s warnings late last year that he would cause an “earthquake” by unveiling proof that Modi was corrupt.

In the event, it transpired that the heir apparent to the leadership of the opposition Congress party was referring to a case already before India’s highest court that relied on evidence recovered in income-tax raids on two corporate houses.

Citing written records, the plaintiff alleged that an individual called “Gujarat CM” had received cash payments from companies totalling at least 400 million rupees ($5.9 million) in late 2013 and early 2014.

Modi was the chief minister of India’s western state of Gujarat at the time and went on to win election by a landslide in May 2014. “There is not enough evidence to order an inquiry into the case. We are dismissing it,” a Supreme Court bench headed by Justice Arun Mishra ruled.

Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi, the government’s top lawyer, told the court that there was no credible evidence to prove that Modi had been paid off. “Nobody in the country would be safe if such documents are accepted as legal evidence. Anyone can put the name of anybody on such papers,” Rohatgi told the court.

Prashant Bhushan, the anti-corruption lawyer who brought the case on behalf of a non-governmental organisation called Common Cause, had urged the court to order a probe into the alleged payments made to public officials. “It is sad and unfortunate that the Supreme Court dismissed my plea,” Bhushan told media.

Indian politicians are often dogged by sleaze allegations and many of the country’s elected officials face criminal proceedings. Modi has, however, cultivated a clean image as the son of a humble tea seller.

He shook India in November by scrapping high-value banknotes in a bid to purge the economy of “black money” — the proceeds of illicit business, corruption and tax evasion. The move has caused massive disruption to daily life and business throughout the country of 1.3 billion people.

Modi’s so-called demonetisation drive will face the verdict of voters when five of India’s federal states hold elections in February and March — most importantly the battleground state of Uttar Pradesh — that will influence his chances of a second term at the 2019 general election.
